U.S. Representative Becca Balint, who serves Vermont’s at-large district in Congress, has recently addressed several national issues through her official social media account. In a series of posts between November 18 and November 20, 2025, Balint commented on health care policy and political rhetoric.
On November 18, Balint stated: “Republicans have no plan for health care, and they never have. I’ll give you a plan: Medicare for All. Democrats are not giving up the fight for every American to have affordable health care.”
Two days later, on November 20, she addressed concerns about the tone of political discourse from the executive branch. In one post she wrote: “The President of the United States is pushing violent rhetoric against elected officials. This is extremely dangerous language and needs to be forcefully called out.”
Shortly after that statement, Balint followed up with another message directed toward members of former President Donald Trump’s party and specifically mentioned Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene: “It is especially important for members of Trump’s own party to denounce this kind of violent rhetoric. @RepMTG, I appreciated your interview with Dana Bash where you spoke about turning down the temperature. This is a great opportunity for you to call on the president to do so.”
Balint has represented Vermont in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Peter Welch. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021. Born in Heidelberg, West Germany in 1968 and currently residing in Brattleboro, Balint graduated from Smith College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001.
