U.S. Representative Becca Balint, who represents Vermont’s at-large district in Congress, recently posted a series of statements on her social media addressing healthcare affordability and the events surrounding January 6th.

On January 6, 2026, Balint wrote, “Right now, Americans are suffering under the weight of whether they can afford the healthcare they need – or are already going without. It’s wrong.

We must provide relief to millions of Americans by extending the ACA tax credits when it comes to the House floor for a vote this https://t.co/JIlMNU2hJx“.

Later that day, she addressed issues related to former President Donald Trump and the Capitol attack: “It takes extraordinary courage to stand up against Trump for inciting violence, attacking our Capitol, and flouting the law.

In another post dated January 7, 2026, Balint stated: “I will not sit silently while Republicans try to rewrite history. The truth of January 6th will not be erased. https://t.co/n7MK0MSicT”.

Balint has served as Vermont’s at-large representative in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Peter Welch. Before joining Congress, she was a member of the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021. Born in Heidelberg in what was then West Germany in 1968, Balint resides in Brattleboro and holds a degree from Smith College earned in 2001.
