Rep. Becca Balint, who represents Vermont’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress, has used her social media platform to highlight issues related to housing, youth concerns, and community engagement in recent posts.

On August 28, 2025, Balint posted about the importance of addressing housing needs, writing “build, build, build

housing, housing, housing https://t.co/3vXOO3t59o“.

Later that day, she addressed Rep. Elise Stefanik on X (formerly Twitter), promoting a visit to Glens Falls: “.@RepStefanik, we can’t recommend Glens Falls enough. You should try visiting sometime. https://t.co/B4cdoEDoPS https://t.co/1KDEPkZejp”.

On August 29, 2025, Balint expressed concern for young people facing economic and environmental challenges. She wrote: “Young people are losing hope for the future.

Prices are high and going up.
Buying a home is out of reach.
College is expensive and there’s no student debt relief.
Climate change is destroying the planet.
Rights and freedoms are being stripped away.

This is not sustainable.”

Balint has served in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Peter Welch. Before her election to Congress, she was a member of the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021. Born in Heidelberg in 1968 and currently residing in Brattleboro at age 54, Balint graduated from Smith College with a BA in 2001.
