Rep. Becca Balint, U.S. Congresswoman representing Vermont’s at-large district since 2023, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing Americans’ priorities and reflecting on political leadership in the House of Representatives.
On November 5, 2025, Balint wrote, “Turns out Americans want our First Amendment rights protected. We want good and affordable health care. We want a government that works for us, not against us.” The post highlighted her perspective on key issues she believes are important to the American public.
Later that day, she commented on consumer experiences with grocery shopping: “I guess this is easy to believe if you have never shopped in a grocery store.” (November 5, 2025).
On November 6, 2025, Balint reflected on the legacy of Speaker Nancy Pelosi: “It’s hard to imagine the House of Representatives without Speaker Pelosi. She made history becoming the first woman Speaker and our country progressed forward with her vision and pure skill. She has been a longtime champion for LGBTQ+ rights. The OG. I’m proud to have served with”
Balint began serving in Congress after replacing Peter Welch in 2023 and previously held office in the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021. Born in Heidelberg, West Germany in 1968 and currently residing in Brattleboro, Balint graduated from Smith College with a BA in 2001.
