Rep. Becca Balint, who represents Vermont’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used her social media platform to address several national issues, including consumer protection and U.S. foreign policy under the Trump administration.
On April 15, 2026, Balint expressed support for state attorneys general taking action against Live Nation, referencing their efforts in the absence of federal intervention. She wrote: “This is great news. I’m grateful to state AGs, including @VTAttorneyGen, for stepping up when the Trump admin dropped the ball. Now, we need real consequences for Live Nation and accountability for how they treated American consumers.”
The following day, on April 16, 2026, Balint criticized funding priorities related to military action in Iran and healthcare coverage. She stated: “With the money Trump wants for his war of choice in Iran, we could fund the ACA tax credits FOR TEN YEARS. Vermonters and folks across the nation are suffering from this admin’s backwards priorities.”
Later that same day, she commented on congressional actions regarding military engagement in Iran: “The House just considered yet another measure to end Trump’s illegal war in Iran. I voted to end the war. Republicans voted to keep it going. Gas prices are through the roof, Trump’s achieved none of his objectives, and there’s no exit strategy in sight.”
Balint has served as Vermont’s at-large representative since 2023 after succeeding Peter Welch. Before joining Congress, she was a member of the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021. Born in Heidelberg, West Germany in 1968 and currently residing in Brattleboro at age 54, Balint graduated from Smith College with a BA in 2001.
