The following day, on September 4, 2025, Balint commented on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s qualifications and the actions of the Trump administration: “RFK Jr. is not only deeply incompetent, has no credentials to lead HHS, he is also a flat out liar. The Trump administration, permitted by the Republican Congress, slashed Medicaid and SNAP. We are not going to let this go. https://t.co/Gy7Nk3rnws”.

Balint succeeded Peter Welch in Congress after serving in the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021 and has been active in public service for several years. She was born in Heidelberg, West Germany in 1968 and currently resides in Brattleboro. Balint earned her BA from Smith College in 2001.
