U.S. Representative Becca Balint, who represents Vermont’s at-large district in Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on social media regarding the future of Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits and national security concerns.
On December 1, 2025, Balint warned about the looming expiration of ACA tax credits: “Only 13 legislative days remain before the ACA tax credits expire and millions of people are priced out of their health care. House Democrats have a discharge petition to extend ACA tax credits for 3 years. We just need a handful of Republicans to join us.”
Later that day, she commented on Fox News host Pete Hegseth’s role in national security issues: “Pete Hegseth is incompetent, reckless, and a threat to our national security. He needs to go.”
The following day, December 2, Balint reiterated her position on health care accessibility: “I want everyone in America to have affordable health care.”
Balint has represented Vermont’s at-large congressional district since 2023 after succeeding Peter Welch. She previously served in the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021 and resides in Brattleboro. Born in Heidelberg, West Germany in 1968, Balint earned her undergraduate degree from Smith College in 2001.
