U.S. Representative Becca Balint, who represents Vermont’s at-large district in Congress, posted a series of statements on social media addressing government transparency, privacy concerns, and current events.

On December 12, 2025, Balint commented on the Trump administration’s reaction to certain revelations by writing, “This is what happens when the Trump administration is faced with the truth. Masterful work @SethMagaziner.” Later that day, she referenced NBC’s Saturday Night Live in another post: “Saturday night skit? @nbcsnl”

The following day, December 13, 2025, Balint addressed digital privacy issues by stating: “Anyone with an email account or a phone is giving the government a backdoor to search without a warrant. We need robust safeguards to protect our privacy.”

Balint has represented Vermont’s at-large congressional district since 2023 after succeeding Peter Welch. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021. Born in Heidelberg, West Germany in 1968 and currently residing in Brattleboro at age 54, Balint earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College in 2001.
