Rep. Becca Balint, U.S. Congresswoman representing Vermont’s at-large district since 2023, has recently used her social media platform to comment on a range of political and social issues, including congressional hearings, presidential pardons, and the handling of sexual abuse allegations.

On December 20, 2025, Balint posted: “Yet another hearing where Republicans are using valuable time to denigrate the LGBTQ+ community, instead of protecting healthcare, bringing down housing costs, and defending democracy.”

The following day, on December 21, 2025, she criticized former President Donald Trump’s decision to pardon Joseph Schwartz: “Trump is literally laughing at his voters by pardoning a man like Joseph Schwartz. It’s disgusting.”

On December 22, 2025, Balint addressed the long-standing allegations against Jeffrey Epstein and the response from federal authorities: “Maria Farmer reported Epstein to the FBI in 1996! They ignored her complaint. So many girls could have been saved from horrible trauma. These survivors deserve justice. It’s not too late.”

Balint has represented Vermont’s at-large district in Congress since replacing Peter Welch in 2023. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021. She was born in Heidelberg, West Germany in 1968 and currently resides in Brattleboro. Balint earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College in 2001.
