Rep. Becca Balint, who represents Vermont’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media between November 13 and 14, 2025, criticizing policy approaches on healthcare, campaign finance, and housing.
On November 13, Rep. Balint addressed what she described as vague policy proposals: “Volumes of ideas.” “Concepts of a plan.” We’ve heard enough of this nonsense. Here’s an actual plan for you: MEDICARE FOR ALL.”
Later that day, she commented on political decision-making and its impact on working people: “This is what you get when you sell out your supporters for a handful of billionaires with every decision you make. Free advice: do what’s right for working people.”
On November 14, Rep. Balint criticized recent remarks from the Vice President regarding housing costs and immigration: “The VP is wrong. This isn’t about immigration. This is pure scapegoating. The reason housing is so expensive is because Trump refuses to hold greedy corporations accountable. In fact he emboldens them.”
Balint has represented Vermont’s at-large congressional district since 2023 after succeeding Peter Welch. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021 and has lived in Brattleboro since completing her undergraduate degree at Smith College in 2001.
