Rep. Becca Balint, who has represented Vermont’s at-large district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, published a series of critical posts on her official social media account this week, addressing issues ranging from immigration enforcement to economic policy.

On December 2, 2025, Balint posted: “Trump is literally rewarding a narco-terrorist.”

Later that day, she wrote: “Immigration agents have detained at least 170 United States citizens under Trump and Kristi Noem.” (December 2, 2025).

Two days later, Balint questioned longstanding economic policies in another post: “Can we all finally admit that tax cuts are never going to trickle down?” (December 4, 2025).

Balint assumed office after Peter Welch and previously served in the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021. Born in Heidelberg, West Germany in 1968 and currently residing in Brattleboro, she graduated from Smith College with a BA in 2001.
