Rep. Becca Balint, U.S. Congresswoman representing Vermont’s at-large district, shared a series of posts on her social media account reflecting on the end of 2025 and outlining her legislative priorities for the new year.

On December 31, 2025, Balint posted a message looking back at the past year: “May you always find joy in the difficult times. Here are a few of my most joyous moments in 2025.”

The following day, January 1, 2026, she reaffirmed her commitment to her constituents with a post stating: “New year, new energy, same goal: fight for Vermonters.

I’m fired up and ready to protect healthcare, dismantle monopolies, lower housing costs, defend the democracy, and always hold the Trump administration accountable.

Let’s go 2026″

On January 3, 2026, Balint commented on recent foreign policy actions by the President: “So much for no foreign wars. The President has no legal authority to attack another country or its leaders. He must be held accountable.”

Balint has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Peter Welch as Vermont’s representative. She previously served in the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021 and resides in Brattleboro. Born in Heidelberg, West Germany in 1968, Balint graduated from Smith College with a BA in 2001.
