AACSB Extends Grossman School of Business’s Accreditation for another Five Years

The UVM Grossman School of Business has had its accreditation extended for another 5 years by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)— a hallmark of excellence in business education earned by less than 5 percent of the world’s business schools.

AACSB accreditation is known worldwide, as the longest-standing, most recognized form of specialized accreditation that an institution and its business programs can earn. Accreditation is a voluntary process that includes a rigorous external review of a school's mission, faculty qualifications, curricula, and ability to provide the highest-quality programs for students. AACSB's accreditation processes are ISO 9001:2015 certified.

“AACSB accreditation is the highest standard of achievement for business schools globally,” said Sanjay Sharma, Dean of the Grossman School of Business. “This reaccreditation confirms the quality of the faculty, programs, staff, and students we have here. I couldn’t be prouder of the school’s accomplishments over the past five years.”

For more than a century, AACSB accreditation has been synonymous with the highest standards in business education. Achieving accreditation is an arduous process of thorough internal standards alignment, academic quality, engagement with AACSB, and a peer-reviewed evaluation.

Standards require proven excellence in students, faculty, and staff; learning and teaching; academic, alumni and professional engagement, societal impact, and strategic innovation. As part of the multiyear process, schools develop and follow a plan to align with AACSB’s accreditation standards.

“Congratulations to all faculty, staff, alumni, and our Board of Advisors for their support in enabling us to continue on the path of excellence in an unconditional maintenance of our AACSB accreditation” Sharma said. “By maintaining our AACSB accreditation, we further illustrate our commitment to quality, innovation, societal impact, and continuous improvement. I look forward to continuing this exceptional trajectory over the next five years and beyond.”
