Not dissimilar to Vermont, mobile homes are a sought-after solution for residents seeking affordable homes. Unfortunately, older homes are not built to the higher wind standards needed to withstand a hurricane. And older homes make up the vast majority of available stock with the Florida Manufactured Housing Association reporting that two-thirds of the 822,000 mobile homes in Florida predate 1994.
