Communities across Vermont seek creative solutions to Vermont's housing shortage, including home-sharing programs. In Burlington, the city council approved giving up to $1,000 to the first thirty homeowners in the city who charge a rent of $650 or less per month and find a tenant through HomeShare Vermont. HomeShare Vermont is a non-profit organization that helps seniors, adults with disabilities, and others remain at home by matching them with people looking for a place to live. There are no age or income restrictions to be eligible for the program.
