The Los Angeles mayor says the city will move unhoused people indoors

The national housing shortage has homelessness rising in many cities, including LA, notorious for its large houseless population. Los Angeles' newest mayor, Mayor Karen Bass, has declared homelessness a state of emergency, and has launched an initiative to move the over 40 thousand people without housing into hotels. Importantly, Mayor Bass has indicated that the encampments would not be "cleared out" as a part of this endeavor, but they would work with community organizations to connect people to this new resource. https://www.npr.org/.../homelessness-los-angeles-hotels...
