Washington, D.C - On June 14, Rep. Becca Balint (VT-AL) was named to two House Judiciary Subcommittees: “The Constitution and Limited Government” and “Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust.”

“I’m honored to be assigned to these two influential subcommittees on the  House Judiciary Committee,” said Rep. Becca Balint. “I’m ready to hit the ground running on some of the most urgent issues facing our country right now related to civil rights, voting rights, government ethics, and antitrust. These subcommittees allow me to fight for issues that Vermonters sent me here to do. That includes making our economy work for American families – not corporations, and ensuring civil rights and liberties are protected as they come under continued attack. I look forward to joining my colleagues in engaging with these critical issues with clarity, reason, and grit.”

The Constitution and Limited Government Subcommittee, under the leadership of Mary Gay Scanlon, presides over some of the most important fundamental issues of our time including constitutional rights, constitutional amendments, Federal civil rights, voting rights, claims against the United States, non-immigration private claims bills, ethics in government, and tort liability. 

The Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust Subcommittee has jurisdiction over most crucial issues facing our economy. Under Ranking Member Lou Correa’s leadership, the subcommittee’s work includes bankruptcy and commercial law, bankruptcy judgeships, administrative law, independent counsel, state taxation affecting interstate commerce, interstate compacts, and other antitrust matters.
