On February 7, Rep. Balint expressed concerns about educational resources being reallocated from schools to wealthier individuals. She stated: "Teachers and schools are already underfunded and they want to leave our schools with even less resources and give it to billionaires."

Later that day, she raised issues regarding Elon Musk's financial ties with the government and his new role as a government employee. She called for an investigation into these matters due to potential conflicts of interest: "Elon Musk is the richest man in the world in large part because of his contracts with the government. Now he's a government employee, opening up sprawling conflicts of interest from this position. It must be investigated immediately."

On February 8, Rep. Balint highlighted a real-life example related to tariffs affecting Vermonters' heating costs. She recounted an incident where a resident faced increased charges for prepaid oil due to tariff-induced price hikes: "Ready for a real-life tariff story? My staff spoke with a Vermonter who prepaid in the fall for all of the oil she needs to heat her home for this entire winter season. But this week, her oil company in Canada said she owed more because prices went up due to Trump’s tariffs —"
