Rep. Becca Balint, a U.S. Congress member representing Vermont's at-large district, shared her views on recent legislative and political developments through a series of tweets on March 13, 2025. Her posts covered topics ranging from spending plans to social security access and the passing of a colleague.

In her first tweet of the day, Rep. Balint criticized House Republicans for introducing a spending plan she believes is detrimental to working people, veterans, and hospitals. She expressed readiness to support a bipartisan solution if presented: "This week House Republicans brought forward a spending plan that hurts working people, veterans and our hospitals, while lining their own pockets — even when a four week extension was on the table. If they want a bipartisan solution I’m ready to vote for it asap."

Later in the day, Rep. Balint commented on changes affecting Social Security benefits access. She highlighted concerns over the requirement for beneficiaries to use an app or visit offices in person following closures and staff reductions: "So if your grandma or mom wants to get her Social Security benefits, now she has to either use an app, or go in person after they closed field offices and fired staff? What a sick joke. The cruelty is the point."

In another tweet posted that evening, Rep. Balint expressed sorrow over the death of fellow Representative Grijalva. She praised his contributions toward improving lives in Arizona and his dedication to environmental justice: "Very sad news to hear of my colleague Rep. Grijalva’s passing. His leadership has made life better for working people in Arizona, and his legacy fighting for environmental justice lives on."
