The University of Vermont finished in fifth place at the 2026 NCAA Ski Championships, according to a March 14 announcement. The event took place over four days at the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway, Utah.

This result is significant as Vermont secured a total of 334 points, surpassing their eastern rivals Dartmouth by 20 points. The University of Utah, which hosted the championships, won the overall title with 549.5 points.

On the final day of competition, Vermont’s women’s Nordic team scored the most points in the field during the 20k Freestyle mass start. Brewster earned her third career national runner-up finish in this event with a time of 52:22.4 and received First Team All-American honors for the third time in her collegiate career. A first-year skier placed tenth with a time of 52:59.0 and was named to the Second Team All-American list after her debut at the NCAA Ski Championships Freestyle event. Another Vermont skier achieved a personal best by finishing twelfth in the same race with a time of 53:19.9, contributing additional points for UVM.

In men’s competition, Greenberg placed third in his NCAA Championships Freestyle debut with a time of 46:21.7—just over seven seconds behind winner Mons Melbye from Utah—and also earned First Team All-American recognition. Other Vermont skiers finished twenty-first and thirty-third respectively.

Several Vermont athletes were recognized as All-Americans by the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association across both freestyle and slalom events.

Looking ahead, these results highlight Vermont’s continued strength in collegiate skiing and set expectations for future competitions.
