The Vermont Catamounts women’s lacrosse team lost to Brown University 15-6 on Apr. 1 at Stevenson-Pincince Field. Vermont’s record moved to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in America East conference play, while Brown improved to 5-5 overall and 1-2 in the Ivy League.
The game saw Brown take an early lead, scoring twice within the first two minutes and extending their advantage with six consecutive goals. By halftime, Vermont trailed Brown by a score of 12-2.
Doraz led the Catamounts with two goals, as well as contributing two draw controls and two caused turnovers. Another player led the team in points (3) and assists (2). Several players each collected two ground balls, tying for the team high. The Catamounts’ goalkeeper made six saves with a .429 save percentage. Vermont forced eight turnovers compared to five by Brown.
The Catamounts will return home for their next conference matchup against Binghamton on Saturday, Apr. 11, with faceoff scheduled for noon. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+. It is also Youth Day presented by Healthy Living; activities including inflatables and giveaways will begin one hour before the game on the concourse, and all youth under age twelve can receive complimentary tickets from the ticket office. A poster signing session is planned immediately after the match.
