Weltz has been chosen as one of 26 recent graduates to participate in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) “So You Want To Be A Coach” program, according to an April 1 announcement. The event will be held from April 1-3 during the WBCA Convention in Phoenix, Arizona.
The program is designed to help female basketball players who are interested in coaching by increasing their understanding and application of skills needed for coaching positions. It also aims to introduce participants to coaches and administrators and raise awareness about the talent pool among former women’s basketball players.
During her final season as a Catamount, Weltz served as team captain and averaged 11.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. She led her team with 1.4 steals per game, ranked second in the conference for assist-to-turnover ratio, and finished fourth in America East with her assist numbers.
Over her college career, Weltz earned several honors including being named twice to the America East All-Conference Second Team as well as receiving All-Conference Third Team, All-Defensive Team, All-Academic Team, and All-Rookie Team recognition. She surpassed the milestone of scoring over 1,000 points this season and was also active on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

To qualify for participation in the “So” program candidates must have completed their eligibility at a four-year institution within the past year and be nominated by their WBCA-member head coach based on academics, contributions on or off court, professional resume and written recommendation.
