Vermont has a housing crisis, and if you live here, you probably don’t need to be told that. Although housing solutions might seem simple, how we talk about housing, what we mean when we talk about housing, and what our housing needs are can actually be quite complex.  Housing Demystified is a 4-part series intended to provide a basic framework so that we can have a common vocabulary when we talk about housing. Welcome to the first chapter!

In this first installment, we talk about how we measure our community's housing needs, and introduce the three major reports we look to as housing advocates to inform our policy goals:   -The National Low Income Housing Coalition’s Annual Out of Reach Report: https://nlihc.org/oor/state/vt

-The Point in Time Count: https://www.cchavt.org/2022-point-in-time-count/

-The Vermont Housing Needs Assessment: https://outside.vermont.gov/.../HNA-Fact-Sheet-1
