On Saturday, March 22, former Champlain Valley Union High School standout Samara Ashooh’s current collegiate team the Smith Pioneers lost 77-49 against the NYU Violets in the NCAA Division III Basketball Championship Tournament.

Hosted in Cregger Center, this was the first game against the NYU Violets during the championship.

Samara Ashooh’s hometown is Shelburne and game position is forward.
