Burlington Free Press issued the following announcement.
Visitors to the site with 39 buildings, 22 gardens, a steamship, a lighthouse, a carousel and more than 100,000 objects on 45 acres might think of the Shelburne Museum as an educational project that’s varied, but not alive. How can it be alive? The world-class American and European Impressionist art dates to the 19th century and the vast majority of objects on display were acquired before Webb’s death in 1960.
