Rep. Becca Balint, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Vermont's at-large district, shared her thoughts on recent events through a series of tweets. Balint, who succeeded Peter Welch in 2023 and previously served in the Vermont Senate from 2017 to 2021, addressed various issues including a tragic crash, political accountability, and the need for legislative action on artificial intelligence.

On January 30, 2025, Rep. Balint expressed her sorrow over a crash at DCA that reportedly left no survivors. She stated: "Completely heartbroken by the crash at DCA from which there are believed to be no survivors. I'm praying for all of the affected families and sending my immense gratitude for the emergency responders working tirelessly through the night."

Later that day, she criticized an unnamed individual for failing to provide answers regarding an incident involving a military helicopter and a plane. On January 30, 2025, she tweeted: "He was supposed to give the American people answers about what happened and how. But instead he just ranted and rattled off lies. A military helicopter ran into a plane because of DEI? Does he really expect us to believe that?"

On January 31, 2025, Rep. Balint emphasized the importance of bipartisan efforts in Congress to regulate artificial intelligence effectively. She wrote: "Congress has to rise above partisanship to create guardrails around AI that addresses risk and supports safe innovation. This rapidly changing technology and industry requires our attention to get it right."
