In a tweet posted on February 13, 2025, Rep. Balint criticized the budget proposal by House Republicans. She stated: "The House Republicans' budget is out and what they’ve made clear is they're trying to pass a budget that delivers a massive tax cut........to billionaires. How will they pay for that? By coming for our health care and Social Security."

Later that day, Rep. Balint commented on Elon Musk's purported involvement in former President Donald Trump's campaign strategy. She outlined her perspective: "This has always been Elon's plan: 1. Spend over $250M on Trump's campaign so he wins 2. Advise Trump on how to cut government spending 3.
