The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont announced that Quentin Dingle, a 39-year-old resident of Brooklyn, New York, received a sentence of 60 months in prison. This will be followed by three years of supervised release. The sentencing was delivered by United States District Judge William K. Sessions III on November 4, 2024. Dingle had previously admitted guilt to possessing a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
Court records indicate that law enforcement officials in Burlington began investigating Dingle's activities in early spring 2023 when they learned he was distributing cocaine base. Over several months, authorities conducted five controlled purchases from him. On September 26, 2023, law enforcement executed a search warrant on two storage units under Dingle's control. The search revealed various narcotics including 35.4 grams of fentanyl, 7.7 grams of cocaine base, and other substances mixed with fentanyl, as well as a Beretta .380 caliber handgun.
United States Attorney Nikolas P. Kerest praised the collaborative efforts between the Burlington Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration in this investigation.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan A. Ophardt and Joshua L. Banker prosecuted the case against Dingle, who was represented by attorney William A. Vasiliou.
